Kuppaimeni is a short herbal plant available in all the areas of India regardless of Temperature, and Soil type. It mostly grows on road sides and also in barren land. However it is having lot of herbal and medicinal properties.

It is called as Kuppaimeni, and Poonai Vanangi in Tamil. Indian Nettle in English. Harita Manjari in Hindi. Its Botanical name is Acalypha Indica.

Leaves extract of the plant consumed in empty stomach is effective in removing mucus in chest and in esophagus area. The mucus would be removed as vomit or through excretion.

It is bitter in taste and having so many anti microbial chemicals. The leaves can be applied as paste to remove pimples and black spots in our skin.

Kuppaimeni powder along with Neem Powder and Aloevera powder can be used to get rid of dandruff and the related hairfall. Kuppaimeni powder along with Kasthuri Manjal Powder mix has been used as a natural hair remover by many women. It also prevents growth of new hair.

Kuppaimeni is a very cold plant. We should avoid consuming Kuppaimeni leaves during winter and rainy season. People living in hill areas should also avoid consuming Kuppaimeni leaves or its extract.
